TweetAPrize

This is a pretty awesome idea. If you aren’t already on Twitter… get there already!

Tweetaprize.com is an amazing opportunity for both advertisers and twitter follower.

They will “tweet” clues to their followers. The first person to “tweet” the answer wins the prize. Easy enough. And the prizes are worth at least $75.

If nothing else… the site has a really cute design and is worth checking out.

I am more of a Mortgage Advisor than a realtor… but on occassion I do have the need to post Classified Ads. Sometimes Craigslist doesn’t capture a broad enough audience to suit my needs.

When I need a Super Charged classified ad I use: ClassifiedFlyerAds.com

This service is not free… It starts at $11.99 per month. But, they do offer a 30 day Free Trial for those of us who like free things. It really is a small fee for the time saving service thay offer.

This is an excerpt from their FAQ’s:

What’s the benefit to me for using ClassifiedFlyerAds? Simple! Low Price Prescription Program – Free Drug Card

I have come across a real life saver. Or a wallet saver…

There are a few prescriptions that I take on a daily basis. One of which is ridiculously overpriced. On average, a 30 day supply would cost me about $175. I was able to save money on the other two by going through the Sam’s Club $4 prescription program. But, that only dropped one down to $4.

I went to my local city government website to see if they offered any government assistance to someone like me. Someone who can’t get health insurance on their own… Someone who was laid off… lost their group plan… Can’t afford COBRA…etc…

Lucky Me!!! I came across what they call the Long Beach Drug Card.

I am not kidding… my $175 prescription ended up costing me less than $14. That is $161 dollars in savings!

After a little research, I was able to find the main site so that I could share this knowledge with people outside of Long Beach, California. http://www.freedrugcard.us/ Read More »

Why should I get an extended service plan?

I don’t know how many times when offered the additional warrantly plan offered by a store I thought…. I don’t need this. But, I’m a sucker for safety.

And I’ve needed it 9 out of 10 times. You want to know why? Because nothing is made like it used to be. I mean really… why bust your butt on quality when the consumer will purchase it regardless. And in the name of America they will buy it again as soon as a better one comes out.

My XBOX 360 got the red ring of death 3 times. Or should I say 3 out of the four XBOX 360’s that were replaced with the extended service plan offered by Best Buy.

My 52″ DLP TV busted a bulb in a little over a year.

Smartphone stopped working properly.

And most recently my HP Pavilion laptop of less than a year blew the harddrive.  Exactly one year to the day of my initial purchase the damn thing died on me. What are the chances that it would happen the day the one year manufacturer warranty expired. Seriously?!

It was under “repair” for two weeks with HP. But, Best Buy issued me a new one. Or should I say a newer one. Eveything was better than my initial laptop. 2GB of Ram is now 4GB. 160 GB drive is now 320GB. 32 bit OS is now 64 bit…. you get the picture.

There are certain items I would say are pointless to buy the extended plan such as a DVD player. Anything where the cost of the plan is more than half of the purchase price… As a rule, I don’t buy the plan. Most of these items have a 30 day guarantee by the store or some form of a manufacturer’s guarantee. This should be sufficient.

What is your experience in this area? Any suggestions? Any particular retailers better than others? I happen to prefer Best Buy…
