$4 prescriptions!? duh…
This may be old news to some of you… But retailers such as Wal Mart, Target, and some grocery stores are offering $4 generic prescriptions.
I had heard this before but never took the extra step to investigate. I was laid off in July of last year and carried on cobra for a few months until it became too expensive to manage. Paying for prescriptions monthly has become quite a nasty necessity.
Personally, I avoid Wal Mart like the plague. It is impossible to manuever with a cart. And most times it is just not convenient to run in and grab one item really quick with the lines being as long as they are.
Because I have a Rite Aid across the street from where I live it just became a routine to pick up my prescription there.
Recently, I got off my butt and transferred my prescriptions to Sam’s Club. One out of the three is not made in a generic form; but it is still about $100 less a month at Sam’s vs Rite Aid. One of the other two is a Generic that is only offered at $24; not the $4 I was hoping for… but much better than the $126 i was previously paying. And the third I paid the advertised $4.
Altogether I must be getting a savings of at least $300 a month.
I have compiled a few interesting links:
